Per-payment principle · load-bearing
Every payment has its own 14-day refund window.
The original Self (₹249), the Pro Family upgrade top-up (₹300), the full Pro Family (₹799), and every Ask CA tier upgrade all carry independent 14-day regret-protection from the moment of payment. The clock on one payment does not consume the clock on the next.
Exports-already-downloaded still blocks the Tax Review refund per the policy below. Ask CA refund rules (full / 50% / none based on engagement state) are unchanged — but each payment inside an Ask CA engagement gets its own clock.

- The ₹700 top-up has its own 14-day refund window from the moment it captures.
- The original Consultation ₹299 is consumed and non-refundable — the engagement has progressed past initial acceptance.
- Refunding the top-up reverts the engagement to Consultation tier · the CA is notified and the revenue share is recomputed on the lower total.
- Top-up forfeits its window once an ITR Filing deliverable (filed ITR / ITR-V) or Notice & Defence response is dispatched — whichever applies to the upgraded tier.
FAQ · refunds
- How do I request a refund?
- From Settings → Billing · click "Request a refund" next to the relevant charge. Approval is automatic if you're inside the window and haven't exported.
- Why does export forfeit the refund?
- Because export delivers the substantive product — a CA-grade handoff PDF a verified CA can file from. Once you have it, the value is in your hands. (Self-filing was removed from Chitragupt in 2026-05; filing now happens through your CA.)
- What if your engine got my tax wrong?
- Email support with the issue. If we agree it's a computation error, we'll refund regardless of the 14-day window or export status — and fix it for everyone.
- How long does the refund take?
- Razorpay sends a credit back to your original payment method · UPI usually settles same-day, cards 5-7 working days, netbanking 3-5. We don't hold the money on our end.
- Can I cancel Pro Family mid-year?
- Pro Family is one-time per AY, not a subscription — there's nothing to cancel. If you upgraded AI Self → Pro Family and want to step back inside the top-up's 14-day window, we refund the ₹300 top-up standalone and downgrade you to AI Self. Self → Pro Family direct upgrades follow the same rule with the ₹550 top-up.
- Does refunding an Ask CA top-up reset the original Consultation fee's clock?
- No. Each payment has its own clock from the moment it captured. Refunding the upgrade top-up reverts the engagement to the lower tier · the original Consultation fee's window is independent (and, in nearly every case, already elapsed and consumed because the engagement progressed).
